How to Care for Your Children's Clothes (and Make Them Last)

June 29, 2026

With a few simple habits you can keep favourite pieces looking new through multiple kids — and even pass them on.

Laundry Tips That Actually Work

Kids are hard on clothes — paint, grass, ice cream — you name it. But with the right routine, your Sibling Studio pieces can outlast toddlerhood and reach the next sibling in great shape.

1. Wash in Cold Water

Cold water is gentler on fibres and colours. It also saves energy. For most everyday items, a 30 °C cycle is more than enough.

2. Turn Bright Colours Inside Out

This protects the print and prevents fading caused by friction inside the drum.

3. Air-Dry When You Can

Heat is the enemy of elastic waistbands and screen prints. Hang-drying adds years of life to garments.

4. Treat Stains Immediately

Blot (do not rub) with cold water. A gentle dish soap works for most food stains. Avoid bleach on coloured fabric.
